I’ve been wanting to take my 2 in a half year old daughter to see this movie, but unable to. By the time I was finally able to, the movie wasn’t playing in any nearby movie theaters . She’s turning 3 on the 24th, and we’ve decided to give her a Princess And The Frog Birthday party, and want to show it at her party.

I would like to own a copy of the movie that is of the first African American Disney princess which was well overdue to show to my daughters- a princess that is of their nationality – a cartoon character that looks like them!
Jasmine says
I would love to own a copy of this dvd and give it to my 8 year old daughter. We saw the movie when it came out and she truly enjoyed it. I haven’t been able to afford to buy here any of the toys , pj’s or clothing with Tiana on it and she has seen the commercial and asked for it, getting it would make her day and seeing the smile and excitement on her face would make my year.
Syreeta says
Me and my daughter missed out on seeing the movie in the theaters, but she has been patiently waiting until if comes out on DVD. She loves all disney movies from since she was about 1, she is now 9 yrs old and still in love with disney network, movies and the disney stores. We would love to have a copy of The Princess and the Frog.
latoya says
I would love to win this movie for my son, 3, and daughter, 1. I want to teach them the way they are is so beautiful. They don’t have to be light skinned with long hair to be a princess.
Brandi says
Finally an African-American princess movie that we can all look up to! It is indeed a sign of the times! I so want my daughters to own a copy of this movie so they can see that ANYTHING is possible! We are also from New Orleans, so that added detail makes this movie that much more enjoyable! Good work Disney!
TP2 says
“Me and Mommy went to see it in the movie theater, Daddy! Can me and you watch it together, I think you’ll really like it!”
Having it on DVD would allow me and my Princess to watch it together for the rest of forever!
Denise says
This movie is a piece of history! I want to show it to my grandchildren!!
Aketa says
Honestly, I want a copy of my own…I plan to support this movie by buying it as well….my two little princesses will be getting theirs today and I know I’ll probably need a new DVD player bc they are going to wear it out!!
Monique Smith says
OMG! I’d love to win this movie!!! I have 4 children (2 boy and 2 girls) and I often have social events at my house for my childrens friends. My 8 yrs daughter has had small…..Tea Parties, Dinner parties and Just dance on the WII get togethers. It’s hard for me to find things to do that display unity with your friends and that is family orientated, often and inexpensive. Because I do this on my owe, I’d love to yet again share our time with other young girls (and save a dollar or two..lol) . I feel that all of my efforts with exposing and enriching their mines will pay off for their future (and ours…lol)
Mary Avinger says
I would love to own a copy of The Princess and The Frog DVD because it is a part of history as the very first African American princess in a Disney movie. My daughters were so happy when the movie came out to truly see a princess that was like them and other girls in their family.
Tracee says
I would love a copy of this movie because I have 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl. I wanted to take my daughter to see the movie to spend some gilr time with her since she has boys all around her, but I lost my job. I would love to have a copy of this movie so that we could have a “girls night” …just me and her.
Chanta says
I am so happy that I can share this movie with my daughter. A African American Princess was long over due!
Regina Walker says
I would love to win a DVD copy of this movie. I really enjoyed it at the movies with my neice.
Shawnese Spradley says
When Princess and the Frog was first advertised, my sister, mom and I were saying how it’s a must that we take our kids to see the movie…support! We went out and bought princess and the frog outfits for our 5 years olds and my 2 year old niece (my 10 year old just wanted a princess and the frog shirt lol) and dressed them up for the movie. The Saturday after the movie came out, we loaded them in the car and went on our marry way.,,oh, how excited we ALL were! The girls really loved it and so the us three adults :). My five year old’s birthday is the 24th of this month and I know that she would LOVE to have this movie as a gift.
Monica says
Love it! Please bless us with a copy. My daughter loves “Pri-cess Ti Ti.” LOL. She’s 19 months, give her a break. LOL :o)
Sonya says
The reason I would like a copy of the DVD is because I been laidoff about a year. To God be the Glory I havent lost anything. Even though my unemployment stopped. And I wouldn’t be able to afford the DVD unless God touch someone heart to buy one for me or bless me with one. I love Disney movies. I watch them off & on all day while sitting at home.
Sandras says
I’m not sure who enjoyed the movie more, the kids or me. The whole story line, from the beginning to the end, was just great. I live in South Louisiana so the cajun accents, the cooking and bayou scenes made the movie so relatable to me. I have been waiting and waiting for this movie to come out on dvd and I would love to win a copy of it. This movie is definitely a classic!!
Arnetta Gordon says
My daughter is absolutely in love with Princess and The Frog. I was unable to take her and my son to the movies when it hit theatres. My co-worker bought a bootleg copy and I borrowed it. My children ended up watching the movie over and over and over. Its going on 2 months now and I have yet to return it. lol He has graciously decided to call it a gift for my daughter. If I was able to post a video I’d definitely show you my 4-year-old singing the tunes and dancing along with the music.
I would love to win this DVD because I want to add it to my children’s DVD collection, which as of now only includes a few Dora movies and my bootleg “borrowed” copy of Princess and The Frog. If I am not lucky enough to be the winner, I do plan to purchase this DVD because my children absolutely love Tiana. I must admit this is the very first Disney movie that showed how hardwork and determination can pay off. Tiana wasnt wishing on stars, she actually worked 2 jobs and struggled throughout her life to get what she wanted. Other Disney movies seem to lack true substance, but this one really touched me. As a young black woman, I can totally relate to her life and I am glad my children were able to witness and enjoy this wonderful new addition to black history.
Vernell says
I was able to take my 6yo daughter to see this movie. I loved that it portrayed this strong, intelligent black little girl being raised by BOTH of her parents. Not stooping down to the stereotype of single parenthood. I also loved the message: That you can dream, but you need to do your part also. Hard work. I also loved the authenticity of the movie. I loved the fact that Tiana didn’t need a man to “rescue” her, but that the prince and her needed each other and helped each other get their dreams to come true. Beautiful story! I am so proud of Disney!!!
Brittney says
I love the place this movie takes me to. I am 28 yrs old now but felt just like I did at 9 yrs old leaving the Little Mermaid movie.
I.felt like I was a princess but this time instead of my crush in 3rd grade, I felt my orince was
my hubby! I want that feeling over and over and is why I need this movie in my library.
Prettygirl3 says
I’m so proud to have a princess that looks like me and my nieces. It would be awesome to have a piece of black history in my DVD case.
Tamara says
I LOVED the videos! Iwatched them with my boyfriend and it brought up a lost of questions about wants and expectations and why a solid foundation is important. I want the Princess and the Frog video because its historical. What a decade this has been! I am happy that my father lived to see an African American in the White House that we built. I would like the video to share with my boyfriend’s daughter. This would be a great way for us to bond. I have a son so I dont have much experience with young girls. I also plan to host a sleepover for a local youth group and I think this video would do well and give some of these girls positive views of themselves that they dont get by watching TV. Thanks for the opportunity!
Rhonda Boyke says
I’m a 46 yr old mother of two. One boy , 25 yrs old, One little girl, 4 yrs old! When was younger there were no dolls of color nor were there any animated figures of color. I am VERY consitent in my daughter owning ONLY black dolls! I run a very successful in home daycare and all of my clients are white. Sometimes they bring their white babydolls and barbies but they’ve ALWAYS prefered playing with my daughters black dolls! The always talk about how ‘beautiful and pretty’ they all are! It’s nice to have my daughter grow up in a time where “black is REALLY beautiful” in her “little world.” I would love to add this DVD to my dvd library of movies for “my kids” , it’s history and I want my daughter to HAVE everything that relates to her being ALL that she can be!
LaShana says
I would love this DVD due to my daughter wanted to go see it when it was in theaters. However due to me being laid off-, and unemployed we couldn’t afford to see it. And when we were able it was no longer showing in any theater near our home.
Tonja says
I loved the movie. My husband and I took our 7 yr old son and 5 yr old daughter to see the movie. I felt this was an excellent movie, one because it depicted our race in a positive way and two because it can instill that if you work hard and stay focused, you too can attain your biggest dream! Another first for African Americans!!
Tina says
I absolutely LOVED this movie, to have the opportunity to see this with my 3 year old niece and the excitement on her face to see such a beautiful black princess, someone that looks like her was very inspiring. The pure joy she felt while watching this movie is something that I would love to give to her on an everyday basis. Thank you for this opportunity.
Kimberly says
I made the mistake of taking my 20 month old and my 10 year old step-daughter to the Pink Carpet Premiere of Disney’s The Princess and the Frog. I don’t why no one warned me she was too young. I thought all the singing and dancing would keep her attention or she’d fall asleep. She did fall asleep, but only after wanting the leave the theater several times and climbing up and down the stairs. All three of us missed most of the movie. I’d love to see it in its entirety with my step daughter and show it to the almost two year old later when she can appreciate it 🙂
brian says
My 6yr luv this movie ,but when it came out was unable to take her, because of fiances !Now that her birthday is at the end of March i would luv to be able to give this to her for a birthday present!!!!
Christina says
I want this movie because my son and I enjoyed watching it together. He enjoys the soundtrack and can’t wait to own the movie on DVD. Moreover, I think it has a wonderful lesson for him about the benefits of hardwork. And as a women who’s always loved the Disney princesses, I’m delighted not only for a princess of color, but more importantly, a princess that didn’t need to be rescued from by the prince!
Nekesa says
I have been waiting for this movie for over 30 years to come out. My whole life I was treated like a princess, but never identified myself with one because none of them looked like me. Now, not only do I have a character to admire and look up to, I have someone to model myself after. Princess Tiana is not a spoiled brat who always gets what she wants, she understands that hard work, sacrifice and prayer will get you the prize. I cant wait to have daughters that will look up and identify with this character!
Mashiara says
For my children, I believe this is a positive affirmation for them. I grew up in a time where there were no Black princesses for me to look up to or emulate. There was nothing. Now we have Princess Tiana! So excited to have her!
Zynique says
I would love to have this one for my daughter. She loves Princess Tiana and it is so inspirational to see that we finally have an African-American Princess. We have had princesses of other races, but now she can finally see one that looks just like her!
Laura says
I would love to have this movie to share with my twin boys. They are 3 year old and very much into the Disney movie. They weren’t quite ready to sit still in the movies to watch this but very happy to know that we can buy it and watch it at home. Its also a very important for them to see African American characters. So this would be a great surprise for them for Easter!!
Angela says
my fiance is from new orleans; and since i’ve met him, i’ve been wanting to see more of his side of town. new orleans is very intriguing to me. and i love to see/hear the goodness of black marriages etc. i’ve been wanting to see this film and have yet to see it. i keep hearing good news about it and i want to finally see what its all about.
Brenda says
My son who is only 22 months love the movies…The music captured his attention and he sat and watched with his cousin 2 and 3 years old Girls. I really enjoyed it myself and would love to add the first African American Disney Princess to our collection so we can watch over and over again!
Kami says
Have not seen the movie yet! But was waiting for it to come on dvd. I have the whole evening planned. My 9yr old daughter, 5yr old niece and 6 yr old niece are going to have “girls night” That day we will be going to Walmart to get snacks, then to the beauty store for hair products then home so we can do nails, hair and watch the Disney’s new Black Princess!!
Donna says
I would like the DVD so that my grandchildren can watch it and learn that there is nothing wrong with hard work and also you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. I want them to learn that they can lean and depend on God and not some hocus pocus to decide what and who will be in your life. I want my granddaughters to learn that it’s nothing wrong with being a strong woman/man no matter what color but when you get married, you get married for love, put God first and she and her husband become one and share responsibilities. Also the movie had shown how friends stick together no matter what. I want my grandsons to know that you can’t get by by looks alone and that a real man will learn how to work and how to be responsible. Also, that when they get married, that each partner is responsible for their share of responsiblities in the marriage as far as working , communication, trust, love and putting God first in their marriage, not taking the easy way out by marrying someone who has more than he has so he can lay back and do nothing. I want my grand-children to learn that deceiving people will get you nowhere. We teach them these principles every day, but I think if they see the movie, they can comprehend it more according to their age group.
April says
I have 2 little African American princesses and I think the movie shows that girls their color can accomplish their dreams if they believe.
Chandra Davis says
I would love to have a copy of this wonderful movie! I have 3 daughters, 5, 3, and 9 months old. I love that their is finally and African American princess. My 3 y.o. adores Tiana and is trying to be the world’s greatest collector of ALL things Tiana. This would be a wonderful treat for her more than anyone else, although we all loved the movie. My being from Louisiana didn’t have a thing to do with my appreciation of the movie ;).
Rashawn says
My daughter (4) is in LOVE with “The Princess and The Frog”! Her and Daddy went to see it at the movies and she loved it! I would love to have this movie in our collection for BOTH of my little princesses (2,4). I was thrilled when it was announced that Disney would FINALLY have a Black princess; my daughter can name all of the Disney princesses and now there’s one, the same exact color she is. It shows our little girls that they are beautiful too, and also worthy of being (and thoroughly believing) that they are princesses too! (pick me, pick me!)
Onesha says
I saw the movie with my husband, son and daughter. My son said he wanted to see a brown Prince and Princess. Everyone seems to focus on Princess Tiana but now our young boys can see how it is beautiful to be with a strong Black woman and in a role of a man “Prince”. We really enjoyed the movie and would love to have it in our home to watch often. The movie gives positive messages of inner strength and love. It also showed how the light always takes out darkness. As believers in Jesus we REALLY ENJOYED that message as well.
ALICIA says
THIS WOULD BE A GREAT WAY TO SPEND FAMILY TIME WITH ME AND MY GIRLS. QUALITY FAMILY TIME IS KEY IN THIS GENERATION!
Tony says
I saw this movie with my daughter (4) and my son (5) on its opening day. I wanted my daughter especially to see a positive black woman in a strong role, who through hard work, becomes a “princess”. I would like this movie to share with the family again and again. This past Christmas, my little “princess” enjoyed a Tiana-themed selection of gifts.
Kimberly S. says
I haven’t seen this movie yet but look very forward to viewing it. As many people today I have been laid off work since 2008 therefore my finances are stretched to the breaking point. I eagerly await Grandchildren and had previously purchased all the Disney films in anticipation of sharing them with them. Being surrounded by Grandneices and Grandnephews we have family events and view movies together. I would consider it a blessing to win a copy of a film featuring an African American Princess this was long overdue.
Thanking You in Advance,
Kimberly
Cynthia Smith says
i would like to win ths dvd because i can add it to my bay girl collection of princess movies but not only that but because i can know tell her that all princesses do come in all shapes and colors..the barrier has been broken…Thanks..
Stacey says
Oh I would loooove to have the dvd!! I’m so glad that I can finally see myself as a princess, haha!! My favorite used to be the Little Mermaid- move over Ariel!!
Thanks for all of your great articles and insight, BMWK!!!
Harriet says
I would like the movie because I’m a big kid, and I LOVE cartoons, especially those that successfully emulate hard working young women like this one did. I have sons at home, so this would be something to share with a future daughter. If I never have one, this would be something I could watch when I finally get a moment to myself. LOL
Angela says
I have three little princesses that absolutely love Princess Tiana and the wonderful characters in the movie. We have the soundtrack and listen everyday in the car. We have the books we have a toy, all we need now is the movie to watch over and over. :)))
