Mine was the God is trying to tell you something scene. Powerful!
My favorite part of the movie: Nettie/Celie: “Nettie…don’t go…don’t go…Write…What? Write…Nothin’ but death will keep me from it!”
“I bet cha think I don’t know Nothing, but singing the Blues. Oh but Sista have I got news for you. Im something. I hope you think that your something too.”
Love Miss Celie’s Blues.
I’m going with Lamar. It’s a tearjerker to see her get her life together.

“How did he die”?…… On top of me!!!!!
“You bet not tell nobody but GOD.. it’ll kill yo mama.
Next time I put a lil Shug Avery pee in it.
Harpo beat Sophia, Sophia beat Harpo.. but the chilluns kept comin.
How can you stand there and ignore “The Color Purple”
I can go on and on… this my favorite movie of all times!!!!
Soooooo many to choose from but, ….”until you do right by me, everything you even think about gonna fail!”
My favorite part was the infamous “You told “Hopo” to beat me?” lol
My favorite would have to be the dinner scene. Ceily finally stood up for herself after long suffering years. She had enough of Mister’s abuse and told him off. I loved it, makes you realize that no matter your circumstance, you can leave a horrible situation.
When the choir sings “God Is Trying To Tell You Something” and Shug joins in.
I love the whole movie!!!! 1 of my favs= “I’s merried now! I’s married now!”
Can’t say I have a favorite LINE, but my all-time favorite scene is…the dinner table!
Love, love, love this movie! Too many favorite parts…but my favorite line, “it’s gon’ rain on yo head!”
Why did I know everyone was going to be quoting exact lines LOL.
I’m in FULL agreement with Lgrottis; “It’s gonna rain on yo’ head!” However, “The Return of the Prodigal Daughter” brings me to tears every time I watch it!
i have to say my favorite part is the end when celie and her sister are reunited and celie meets her kids…i tear up everytime…
Favorite part is when Celie was reunited with her kids.
I love the church scene!!!
Family Reunion at the end of the movie!
Celie’s fixing to shaaaave Mister!!! Haven’t we all gotten to that point at some time in our lives?
SISTAH! UR ON MY MIND! OH SISTAH! UR 1 OF A KIND! OOOOOO SISTAH
At the end where she tells everyone off at the dinner table. Especialy Mistah.
My favorite part of the movie is when Sophia meets Harpo’s new woman at the juke joint and socks her into the water!!! “I says it’s fine with me.”!!! LOL

Of course, the infamous “You told Harpo to beat me!” “All my life, I had to fight…………..”
I get the emails!
I follow you on twitter too.
My favorite part is when Shugg is trying to sing her song Sista – and the spirit moves she starts singing God is trying to tell you something she gets to the church with all the sinners behind her and she goes to hug her father and he hugs her back and says see Daddy sinners need solitude too.
My favorite part is when Mister is trying to cook breakfast for Shug Avery and he grabs the can of Kerosene. The next scene shows a vacated riocking chair where Celie was sitting.
