For the last few weeks I’ve taken you along with me as I tested out the new American Express Bluebird card. Some of my favorite featues included:
- Being able to load money onto the card in multiple ways. If you make deposits from your bank the transaction will take several days so my favorite method was to go into my local Walmart and deposit directly to the card via cash/debit. That made the funds available immediately on my Bluebird card.
- Being able to use the card anywhere that accepts American Express cards. Because of concerns with identity theft I hate using my actual bank card or credit cards in various situations so the Bluebird is a nice alternative. You can also withdraw funds via ATM.
- Using the Bluebird mobile app to manage my account and money.
- Having the ability to set up sub accounts for our older kids that allow us to teach them financial responsibility at a young age.
You can see a more detailed list of the complete features here.
If you need an alternative to your credit and bank cards or could use the card to assist with your budgeting I would recommend the Bluebird card for you to try out. My only advice would be to make sure you examine how long the funds will take to load from the desired method that you choose.
BMWK family, have you or would you try the Bluebird card from American Express?
