Sandra Bland is dead. She has joined a long list of African Americans who have been detained by police and then later found dead. Whether or not foul play is involved is not for me to say. But there are certain undisputable facts that must be repeated if the cry for truth and justice is to be heard. First, let’s take a look at her arrest.
And now, The Facts:
- She spoke up and often about race, racism, and against the police
- She was recently hired as a student outreach coordinator at her alma mater Prairie View A&M in Texas
- She was near campus when she was pulled over for allegedly changing lanes without signaling
- She was arrested for allegedly assaulting a public servant
- She was taken to a Texas jail
- She called a bail bondsman prior to her death
- It would have cost $500 to get her out of jail
- Her last meal was at 7am
- She was found at 9am
- According to the coroner’s report, she died by means of asphyxiation
- She was found in her jail cell
The police have stated that Bland was combative during her arrest. However, before she is painted as an anti-white, eye rolling, neck rolling black woman, take a look at the following ironic “Sandy Speaks” video.

Family and friends have come forward to protest what has been labeled the official cause of death, self inflicted suicide. The FBI and Texas Rangers are said to be investigating her death.
BMWK, are the police changing lanes from our men to our women? What do you think?
