Are you ready to find out the real story behind the Godfather of Soul’s life? Set for release on August 1, prepare to see “Get on Up,” the James Brown biopic.
In the film, James Brown is portrayed by the star of “42,” Chadwick Boseman. The film portrays Brown’s life as an impoverished child, his time spent in prison, and his journey to stardom. The film also stars Viola Davis, playing Brown’s mother who abandoned him at the age of 6, and Octavia Spencer playing his aunt who raised him in a brothel.
Being brought to you by the director of “The Help” and the producer of “A Beautiful Mind,” this film looks like it may be a hit. Sure to offer up plenty of singing, dancing, soul, and funk, “Get on Up” is on my list of summer must-see movies.
Check out the trailer and let us know if you plan to check out “Get on Up” this summer.

Does the film tell the truth of how he beat women, how he criminally beat and hurt Tammi Terelle when she went on tour with him? And Gene Chandler had to send her home on the bus and she had to have major dental work done? Does the movie expose his mistreatment of the majority of his musicians? One band quit on him and he had to hire William Collins and his band? I hope they don’t try to make him into a role model hero.

I’m impressed, I have to admit. Seldom do I come across
a blog that’s both equally educative and interesting, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head.
The problem is an issue that too few folks are speaking intelligently about.
I’m very happy I found this in my search for something regarding this.
