Lately, it seems like LIfetime is dishing out great films that really speak to Black women. After releasing hits like “The Gabby Douglas Story” and “Steel Magnolias,” Lifetime TV is now getting ready to air the world premier of A Day Late and a Dollar Short, based on the novel by New York Times best-selling author, Terry McMillan.
In the film, Viola Price (played by Whoopi Goldberg) discovers that she will likely die soon and she is determined to repair her damaged family before she leaves this earth, but she soon realizes that it will be no easy feat.
In addition to Goldberg, the star-studded cast also includes Tichina Arnold, Mekhi Phifer, Ving Rhames, and Anika Noni Rose. “A Day Late and A Dollar Short” airs on Lifetime on April 19th at 8/7c.

Why? Why? why? must we always be depicted as smart mouthed —- that go around insulting each other? Where are the classic serious roles besides the slave stories? We either get two choices, comedy of black family or slave drama. SAd sad sad.
