The dress. The makeup. The bridal party. The music. The dancing. The tears. The love. Who doesn’t love a good wedding? I’ve been married for over a month now, and I’m sure this is the best decision I’ve ever made in my life.
Period.
It’s extremely refreshing to know I have a permanent partner that will help me triumph and overcome the craziness of life. My husband’s love for me, in this short time, has already been a perfect example of how Christ loves His church (Ephesians 5:25). It doesn’t get any better than that.
If I had to do it all over again, I would have prepared more. Of course there are some lessons that can only be learned by experience. However, I was a bit naive about the following things:
- Sex. (Keep in mind I was a 30-year-old virgin. To read more about that click here.)
- Household responsibilities (Who does what around here?)
- Finances (The money that was in those wedding cards vanishes way too fast)
There is SO much to consider. Ever heard the saying “Love ain’t enough”. Honey, I’m here to tell you that love is the starting point. But don’t worry, I got ya’ll. BMWK is graciously allowing me to continue sharing my journey with you guys as a newlywed. Get ready, because I plan on sharing the REAL with you guys.
But first, wedding pictures! Our wedding theme was “Old Hollywood Glam in Chicago”. It was beyond beautiful, and I’m not just saying that, because it was my wedding 🙂 Stay tuned!
BMWK: In the meantime, what are some vital lessons you learned immediately after saying “I do”?
