According to news reports, Michael Jordan has asked that guests at his wedding partake in a vow of silence. The wedding invites for his April nuptials requested not only that guests refrain from talking to media but also that they refrain from sharing details with family and friends who “might talk.” Finally, it was requested that guests “shed their cameras and cell phones unless they plan to use them for personal photos.”
While Michael Jordan is considered to be of celebrity status other couples might be faced with similar decisions. With social media usage at an all-time high, wedding photos might make it to “the public” before a bride and groom has the last dance at the wedding reception. Wedding season is just around the corner and perhaps with it, more couples will make a request for a vow of silence. For more on Michael Jordan’s story visit theGrio.
