In less than 24 hours, another police shooting has occurred, this time in Falcon Heights, Minn. near Minneapolis. The victim Philando Castile was pulled over for a broken tail light.
Jetmag.com has the story:
The aftermath of a police-involved shooting was captured on Facebook Live by a woman identifying herself as the victim’s girlfriend. The video, which has seemingly been pulled from Facebook, features the harrowing visuals of a man with a blood-soaked T-shirt rolling listlessly in the car as an officer points his gun into the vehicle.
Minnesota station WCCO is identifying the woman as Lavish Reynolds and the shooting victim as Philando Castile.
The footage is made even more heart-wrenching by the woman’s young daughter, who was outside the car with other officers, trying to comfort her mom. Police bark orders as the woman prays that her boyfriend is still alive and insists that they were pulled over for a “busted tail light.”

The violence that killed Alton Sterling and Philando Castile has become an all too common occurrence for people of color and IT. MUST. STOP.

We need real criminal justice reform so that people can walk down the street without worrying about whether they'll get harassed or shot.

So many people work so hard to find a reason why executing a human being during a routine traffic stop is ok. IT'S NOT OK

We have fucking video proof and some of you still are all "well, uh, he shouldn't have moved his left leg so provocatively".
— John Legend (@johnlegend) July 7, 2016
We should not have to jump through hoops to prove black people shouldn't be shot by police during routine traffic stops.

lynchings were public to keep a class system based on race intact in the Jim Crow south. Public Executions by Police 2day do the same.

If all lives matter… SHOW US!!! Prove it! Show us our bodies hold the same value. There is no excuse for the slaughter. None.

I shot past heartbroken and am stewing in rage. Our lives, our very breath is just as precious. Stop killing us. See us. See our humanity
— Gabrielle Union (@itsgabrielleu) July 7, 2016
Ppl have the ability to be outraged about failing to see the humanity of a GORILLA, but magically don't have the ability to see our worth

Hours after watching #AltonSterling, here comes another one in #FalconHeights. Each one seems to be more horrifying than the last one.

The assault on the black body in this country is as American as apple pie. It is time for a #CallToAction. Let's prove #BlackLivesMatter

BMWK, what do you think the country needs to do to both govern and prevent unwarranted police shootings?
