Just because you’re married doesn’t mean you always share the same interests.
One of you might like tennis, the other might think it’s the most boring sport around. One of you might love jazz clubs but the other complains about the loud noise.
For this tip, it’s time to get with the program. For one day or night, take the time to participate in your spouse’s favorite solo activity. Suspend any of your usual snide comments and do your best to see things through your spouse’s eyes.
Be genuinely interested in why they enjoy this activity. Who knows – you might be a convert if you approach it being open-minded.

I can not say how thankful I am to have learned this early in my new marriage. My husband had been asking me to get a bike so we could bike together. I was reluctant for a whole year and finally gave in after I saw how he genuinely wanted to share this with me and after I saw how much fun he was having. Well fast forward… Now I have my bike and love biking with him. Its spending quality time in a different way. Its priceless!
