Verizon Wireless and Sprint have been ordered to pay the piper to the tune of $90 million and $68 million respectively. And, if you have ever been dealt third party, unauthorized text messaging charges, that piper might just be you.
But, in order to cash in, you must act quickly as the claims deadline ends December 31, 2015.
The practice, known as mobile “cramming,” added an increase of anywhere from $.99 to $14.00 per month to your consumer bill and your provider kept anywhere from 30-35% of the fee. After numerous complaints to the FCC, Verizon and Sprint have to give it all back.
