What I love most about Run’s House is the honesty. Although they are famous and doing well, they don’t put themselves above anyone else. They are very grounded and down to earth. They recognize where there blessings come from. I also love how they don’t hide the trials they’ve endured. They share them with us so that we all can learn and grow. Love the Simmons family. Another wonderful example of black love, marriage and family!!!

I really like Run’s House because they are down to earth. They have fun and enjoy each other, but have some of the same issues as a lot of other families. The dynamic between the children and between the parents and the children is very real, but they deal with it in a “Huxtable”-type way. I love the work ethic taught in the home as well; they all have entreprenurial spirits. and the children don’t wait for their parents to bail them out of situations. My favorite part is Rev Run’s wisdom and insight at the end of the day. Thank you Rev Run and Justine for allowing us to learn by example how to have a successful American family. Be blessed.

I love their transparency. They show their needed areas of improvement, and the methods used to resolve those inadequacies.
JB says
I like the fact that they seem to have everyday problems that most people face regardless of income level. I also like the fact that they are teaching their kids values, a lost art in many homes.
King James says
I enjoy seeing the differences money makes. I don’t want your life to be teh same as mine if my income is greatly different than yours… whether it’s more or less. I think it gives watchers some hope of things to dream for.. and a way to manage it.
And the similarities, that families from all over encounter, are also seen… So I enjoy the balance that the show gives. Still have everyday problems and communication issues at times. The show does a good job as letting us see the process of getting from confusion to clarity. I like that part alot.
Shaina says
I really like the fact that they have the same issues as everyone else and don’t try to talk down to us regular folks like they’re better than we are.
Tasga says
I love that their show is positive and you can take something from each episode. I love their parenting and how respectful the kids are.
Sabrina says
I love how they reconnect and talk about their day. What went well, what they need to work on, how each of them did something with the kids their own way. It really reminds me of how my husband and I try to focus on our different styles of parenting and how we can help each other along the way.

Simply put, ‘Run’s House’ is a great example of the black family unit, laughing, loving and living together ~ through every situation. I can’t tell you how touched I was when they decided to share & air the episode of losing of their baby. I still think about that from time to time, almost as if it happened to someone in *my* family. The Simmons have shared the true nature of family with their many ups and downs, how they deal with each other and most I am always blessed by the inspirations Rev. Run shares at the end of each episode.
The main reason I love ‘Runs House’ is it shows the world: black, white and otherwise, how strong we are and can be when we stick together as a family.

THIS JUST HAPPENS TO BE ON THE TOP OF MY LIST FOR FAVORITE SHOWS!! NO KIDDING!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WATCHING RUN’S HOUSE! WHY? SO GLAD YOU ASKED….BECAUSE THEY TEACH THEIR CHILDREN TO VALUE LIFE RATHER THAN THE VALUE OF MONEY. EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE A WEALTHY FAMILY, THEY ARE ALL THE MORE SO RICH IN THEIR SPIRITS. JESUS STATES “BELOVED I WISH ABOVE ALL THINGS THAT THOU MAY PROSPER AND BE IN HEALTH SO AS OUR SOUL PROSPERS”…NOT ONLY DO THEY SHOW BALANCE BUT THEY APPEAR TO BE A DOWN TO EARTH, LOVABLE AND COMPASSIONATE FAMILY W/ A STRONG BOND. AND I MUST ADMIT, AS WELL, I TRULY ADMIRE THE WAY THE KIDS INTERACT WITH ONE ANOTHA’…IT’S SO FUNNY SOMETIMES…I THANK GOD AND I HIGHLY COMMEND BOTH REV RUN AND JUSTINE FOR THE WAY YOU ARE, “AS THE WORD OF GOD” INSTRUCTS US PARENTS TO DO, TRAINING UP YOUR CHILDREN THE WAY THEY SHOULD GO….PLEASE CONTINUE DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING WHICH IS A WONDERFUL JOB. I TRULY LOVE THE SHOW AND HONOR YOU ALL AS MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST! MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS AND KEEP YOUR FAMILY IN PERFECT PEACE.

I so appreciate their honesty, love and respect for each member ofthe family. I LOVE their relationship as husband and wife and they give me so much advice on how to relate to our children at the different ages and stages. They give us so much insite as a blended family. They to me are the epitome of a blended family as well as people of God…we all enjoy watching their show as a family because it encourages us as a blended family. It’s such a blessing to be able to watch good clean family tv…God Bless them!!!

Run’s House is such a breath of fresh air! I love the fact that they’re a modern day, REAL example of the fictional Huxtables that so many people looked up to when I was growing up. The fact that it’s real makes it all the more endearing.
Staycee2 says
I LOVE (let me stress this word) that this show is a family oriented show. They tackle everyday issues that you & I encounter and resolve those issues to the best of ability. Just to give you an example of how humble the girls are. A couple of years ago I took my 10 year old daughter to the local mall and purchased her a pair of Pastry Kicks and had the honor of meeting Vanessa and Angela and they autographed the shoes for my daughter. There was not one fake thing about the girls. They are just humble girls as they are perceived to be from watching the show. They are truly good parents with normal kids. I also like the fact that I don’t have to cover my kids eyes or ears when we as a family are watching the show!!!!! One other thing, when Justine lost the baby, I liked how they adopted and wasn’t selfish at sharing their wealth and give another kid the chance to live the good life. Justine is not the three eldest kids biological mother and never EVER shows it, it was pointed out to me. I also love the way they’ve showed the eldest kids mom on an episode. Most of all the ending when Rev is in the tub and his endings are so inspirational to all!!!!!!!!!
Jessena Robinson says
What I enjoyed about the show is seeing the relationship that they have with their children. Rev Run has a great youthful, yet respectful relationship with his boys and his girls are simply “daddies girls”…Fantastic!
Niq says
What I have enjoyed about the show is that the are representing the black couple and family in such a great light. I love how they show that the family is close and that they do look out for each other. The black community need those positive icons.
Tsiah says
I love how the Simmons family is always real and they deal with real issues, especially when Jojo was arrested. Let’s everyone know they go through just like we all do.
Shanita Jones says
I love the show and what it teaches viewers about the black family and black parenting. We’ve received so much negativity in the light of tv shows, movies, and news media. When what’s real is that it’s not all like that. I grew up in a family that had low income but we had morals, we didn’t run the streets, we listened to our parents, we all worked hard and did our chores and respected each other. Our parents put God first in us and no it wasn’t all happy days but it was blessful days! So I enjoy watching the show because it’s positive!
LaKenya R.Martin says
Aside from all the PRAISE for them as a family. I am motivated by the way they have exposed themselves, remember when you choose to have the spotlight you choose a big arena of critisizm..now as BELIVERS we know when you have a foundation of faith, anything is possible. IT IS SHOWN in their hearvest, what we see now ,but this is from constant seeds being sewn. AMAN! to their success, and to ther hardships. For the real BLESSING is the growth of their families faith….
Sharon White says
I love Run’s house because Reverend Run teaches his children respect and love. He also teaches the kids responsibility. We don’t see a lot of close nit black families on television anymore. This family also knows how to deal with family issues and stick together. Just because they are rich doesn’t mean a thing. The message that I get from this show is family comes first. All you need on this earth is the love of God and your family. I love it!!
Kimyetta Newton says
The three things I like about the show is being true, being you and acknowledging God.
Charlene says
I love watching Run’s House because I admire the open communications Rev Run & Justine have as a couple. The show depicts the black family in a realistic light.
As parents with money, they teach their children values that can not be bought. They don’t just give them everything they want when they ask…they make them earn it and understand the importance of the lessons learned during the process. I also love how despite all things they can see the humor that life brings and they do not let its failures destroy their family unit. And I love the relationship Justine has with her step-children–she treats them as her own.
The show is brilliant in respect to the other reality shows out there.
Treviese Frazier says
To be able to finally see what the majority of black families are like was positive. I think children now a days see enough negative images of black even more so negative black male images that it was refreshing to see what men are suppose to do, which is take care of and protect their families. Be supportive of their family. I think that watching Run’s House with my children opened up dialogue between the three of us. I am a single mother but still enjoyed and got some interesting views from watching the show. I am glad that the amount of monetary success was not the focus cause that is not what makes a family. But am glad for the amount of success him and his children have, financially and within the family.
KimberLee Carter Williams says
What I like most about the show is how real it seems to be. The situations and parenting issues are so real. I feel that so many reality shows dont show reality at all! We can count on this show being a true description of a positive black family. I especially like the episode where Run was supposed to be talking to one of the boys about something in a disciplinary fashion and ended up playing the Wii with him. I cracked up because this is such a real situation. The fact that Run (a parent with plenty of money and resources) didnt even know what a Wii was…it was cute and funny and sounded like my parents when I was growing up. Applause to this positive show…I love it!
Prayzur says
Sounds like a great read and a great need – Love the show because it is a reality show not based on DRAMA and embarassing ones self. Kepp up the good image!
Rhonda says
I like the show because they keep it real. They focus on Unity, and they don’t have a problem letting the world know they have problems and must resolve them like everyone else. Most importantly, they teach value and the true meaning of family.
Sharon says
Haven’t watched the show a whole lot, but what I have seen is very down to earth. Even though they are wealthy, there are still rules and regs that the children have to follow. It also supports the children in fulfilling their dreams and desires. Love the comments at the end.

What I liked most about Run’s house? I like how the family really seems down to earth not celebrity-like at all but still acknowledging the celebrity. I also like Justine and the older children (from Run’s first marriage) get along. There is really no step-parent/half sibling talk around there. Last, I love that the Simmons’ adopted a child. Also, Angela and Vanessa are my favorite “characters” and make me wish I had a sister.

What I enjoy about Run’s House is that it gives a positive example of a Black family. We haven’t seen a show about a Black family like this since the Cosby Show.
It’s a family oriented show with real life issues.
Keep up the good work!

I can’t get enough of Rev Run and Christine Simmons on Run’s House. They are a real family who strives to do what’s right for their children by God’s standards. Even when they fall short, they keep truckin’ and help their chiuldren understand the life lesson. there are not enough epsiodes of this show an I wish I could watch a new epsiode every single week!

What I like about Run’s House, first and foremost that they are a positive African American family with real problems. They go through things like normal people, like when Jojo got caught with drugs are Rev. had the talk with him and explained to him yea he gonna make mistakes, but he need to bounce back from them and not let them hender him, plus his younger brothers look up to him. Then they had the one where they talked about been wasteful, how as parents we tend to buy things in excess for our children, when we know they already have or don’t need it. I like that they are a real down to earth family with real problems.
Thank you
Keep up the good work.

I watch the show all the time and I really enjoy the realness of it. I am married to a woderful man. All together we have seven children. He has three from a previous relationship, I have three from a previous relationship, and we have one together. Boy is it hard dealing with have a large family, knowing my place as a stepmom. I was so surprised when I began watching the show to find out that Justine was the stepmom to the three oldest children. I’m like I wish I could just talk to her. How does she do it. My husband and I love all the children but at times we separate them by saying “these are my kids”. It’s just hard. But I love seeing a postive married couple on television to give me the motivation to keep going. If they can make it we can make it. And the show isn’t fake. That’s also what I love. And you all have so much fun together. I can go on and on so let me just say I LOVE THE SHOW. And thank you for giving it to us.

I love the “togetherness” shown on the show. I like how Rev. Run & Justine are great examples of a married couple should be and the right way to raise a family. I love that they have instilling good values in their children. The family deals with “real, everyday issues” and handles them in a positive way.

What I love about Run’s house is the unity they show each other my mom died when she was 46 years old of Cancer and I miss the unity we both had and the unity with my family period. I love that Run’s family are just plain human beings that work hard and are very successful. I mean they work hard and they take care of each other. I especially love that it is a family show whereas the whole family can watch the show together. Rev Run is famous in my house because of each and every one of his quotes at the end of his show. Me and my daughter’s father (My Sweetheart) we always wait for the quotes because they are so enlightening. My ten year old daughter especially loves when Rev Run makes the crazy sounds with his voice it just tickles her to death. Overall I would love to see more Season’s of Run’s House.Your family is a big inspiration in the black community and black households. Keep doing what you’re doing and God Bless.

I love the unity of the family and the realness of Run and Justine. Reminds me of my family.
Angela Windley says
What I like about “Run’s House” is that they are down to earth. Rev Run and Justine, do not let the fact they have money change them. They still set rules and boundaries for their children. Rev Run makes his kids work/earn what they want and teach them responsibilities. I love the communication and closeness him and Justine has and they show eachother respect. They time to listen to the other and always have eachother’s back. I love the fact that Run sends out inspirations/messages to everyone. (I get them in email) They show their children how to be responsible and how to make their own money. They are really just a normal family with lots of love.

I love the Simmons family, its great to see a positive black family on tv. A black marriage that has lasted, with God fearing and respectful children, its wonderful. We need more of it on tv for our children to see. Keep up the good work!

I CAN RELATE TO RUN’S HOUSE B/C AS A MINISTER, SOCIETY CAN TRY TO GET YOU BOUND DOWN WITH WHAT THEY FEEL HOW A MINISTER SHOULD ACT. WE ARE HUMANS TOO, WE HAVE A LIMIT THOUGH, BUT WE ARE FREE. NO ONE LOOKS AT RUN DIFFERENT. HE SHOWS HOW YOU CAN PUT HIP HOP AND THE KINGDOM OF GOD TOGETHER. YOU MUST USE WISDOM! HE USES WISDOM WITH HI FAMILY ASLO. HE CUTS UP BUT IT IS GOOD CLEAN FUN. HIS MARRIED SHOWS US THAT THERE ARE COUPLES WHO STILL HAVE PILLOW TALK, CONVERSATION IS THE KEY TO A LASTING RELATIONSHIP, IF WE DID NOT CONVERSATE WITH OUR HEAVENLY FATHER, HOW WOULD WE LAST THIS LONG?
claudia clerk says
I love the show becasue they are real with the children. They do not let them get away with anything, they talk to the children so that they know exactly what they want from them. They love of the husband and wife is surely rubbing off on the children. I like that they show affecion around the children and that would help them show affection to their mate when they grow up. They show the daughter respect and they respect themselves. I like that they back the children dream and what they want to do in life so they are willing to try anything. Stay they way they are and they will go far in life. I have been married for 21yrs and have three wonderful children one college graduate and the other two will be finish soon.

With two turntables and a microphone, Run-DMC broke down the barriers between rock and rap. With sparse, stripped-down lyrics above pounding beats, the trio of Joseph “DJ Run” Simmons, Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels and Jason “Jam Master Jay” Mizell changed rap in the 1980s by taking the realities of the streets to the suburbs. They were the baddest of the bad and the coolest of the cool. Run-DMC changed my life.
I’ve enjoyed watching his show. Rev Run A.K.A Joseph Simmons teaching his family the lessons of life. Along with his wife Justine they guide their children to the right path of becoming responsible young adults and to get something you should not give up. Occasionally big brother Russell Simmons gives his advice to younger brother Run about maintaining his home environment and be more open-minded with his children. The show is realistic and deal with everyday issues such as puberty, pregnancy, and learning the value of a dollar. Run and Justine has a lot of disagreements throughout the show but they’re always there for each other and in almost every episode their in bed telling each other “I love you”. Run’s house is nothing like the “The Cosbys” but it’s realistic and entertaining.

I like the show but the acting…….

I so love this show for so many reasons. Mainly I love the relationship they have with the kids. So open and honest and are not afraid to admit they are constantly learning new stuff even after the 3rd child.
Amelia Doyling says
I love the show because it is so “real”. No fake playing or masks for the cameras. Issues are addressed and solutions offered. Good times and bad, everything is out there.
I appreciate the love that is shown in the family unit as well.
I think of it as a modern Cosby Show.
**keep up the good work, be blessed

What I like the most about the show was that it was all about family, you can clearly see that this family loves each other. I like the fact that it is positve and shows me that not everybody is perfect. I really related to the show when Justine lost Victoria, I lost a baby boy at 21 weeks and before then I had no idea that something like this could happen. It was comforting to see another afro-amercian woman who was surrounded by family who knew my pain. I felt like I became part of their family and they became part of mine. The show also showed that you can be successful, Run pushed his children to do their best. His quote I love, “Do your best and forget the Rest”
Tiffinino says
I love that Rev. Runa nd Justine seem so genuine. They are a great example of a successful Black marriage in a time when that is an image that you rarely see. I strive to be like tha tin my own relationship. I also appreciate that they are a blended family and yet there is no tension between any of th children or any of the children and Justine. Lastly, I think that Angela and Vanessa are so cute! They are always age appropriate in their dress and mannerisms, unlike many other young ladies their age. They seem to have a great relationship. Run’s House is the only reality show that I watch.

I love the show and how Rev Run and Justine show genuine and effective communication.
Vicky Durandisse says
I love the Show because it shows how beautiful Love is in a blended family with out baby mama drama. I am in a relationship with a man who has 2 girls form a previous relationship and we have 2 kids together. I watched how Justine loved on the girls and JoJo like they were her own and how much they loved her back. How Justine and the girls mom were cool how you all could be together as a family and happy. Even though me and man are going through right now when this show first came on it brought us closer as a family as a whole. Me and his first childrens mother get along great we have birthday parties together and the children call us both mommy it was truly a blessing to see that it was ok and that all is well in Love and Family. Thank you for showing us how to move forward in family. I look forward to reading this book because I need guidance in marriage I dont always want to be his baby mama and I know he wants better to, most important we have come so far to split the family again. Peace Love and Thank you for the realness youve brought to us.
CoCoDivalicious says
What I love most about “Run’s House,” is the positivity of the show, and most importantly the realness this family portrays. They have invited the world into their home and in the most intimate aspects of their lives, always teaching us and showing us the best way to handle situations and for me, which stands out the most: how to remain true to the Lord, make mistakes as a human but understand the expectations of ourselves as the Lord’s children. I am a newlywed and my husband and I make sure to never miss this show. We always have in- depth discussions about each show and what it represents in our lives and what his words of wisdom mean to us and how we can apply it accordingly.
Angela says
I like Run’s House because Rev. Run always has something meaningful and relevant to share at the end of each show…and sometimes, I get out of the show even more than what he shares. The Simmons family is a true reflection of the American family and their lives are depicted in such a way that their income is not even a factor. This is the only reality show that I get excited about watching and I also don’t mind allowing my children to watch it with me.
Cheryl says
What I like most about the show is although they are clearly a celebrity family, they are real and down to earth people. They deal with the same family issues that we deal with. There is a mother and a father and they WORK together as a cohesive family unit. This is rare within a black family and a first for a black tv show. It is truely a positive show.
