Bishop T.D. Jakes sat down with Roland Martin on a recent taping of Washington Watch with Roland Martin which airs on TV One to discuss fatherhood in the black community.
During the two-part special Jakes, the pastor of The Potter’s House church in Dallas, Texas, was interviewed by Martin and expounded on his beliefs on an array of fatherhood topics including fatherless homes, gender roles inside households, and even talks alongside his now-adult daughter, Sarah Henson about dealing with her teenage pregnancy. In 2012 is it a problem to the point where we have to single out black men with a two-part special that runs on a national television network? Watch the videos below and let us know your thoughts.

My big take-a ways:
1. The lifting up of the woMAN does not require the tearing down of the MAN.
2. A strong woman appreciates a strong man
3. A strong man is not intimidated by a strong woman

WOW! Admiration for the strength shown in each video posted. It’s uplifting to see our people in a positive light, without letting a negative circumstance remain negative; The silver lining seeker, while seeing the bigger picture… What’s to come or what can become and making changes to make the positive happen even through tough love.
