During Whitney Houston’s emotional homegoing service, Bebe Winans spoke of how generous and loving his dear friend was, even going as far as spending her own money to provide them with outfits for their tour. She even purchased a dress for herself, as she volunteered to be a background singer for them.
Here she is in 1989, singing background as Bebe and Cece Winans sing “Lost Without You” on the Arsenio Hall show. Can you say “throwback”?
I just love how genuinely happy she looked to be singing background. A truly humble person to be in the prime of your career but being a true friend and taking a back seat to help other friends. Beautiful Woman!
Beautiful Indeed she was.
Thank you for posting this. I had no idea! And yes, this is QUITE the throwback – lol!
Love this. It made me laugh out loud at Bebe memory from the homegoing…
Thanks for this!
Very humble. She wasnt trying to outsing anyone.. she was doing her part. I love it.
that was whit… truly God sent
She was a Very Beautiful Person – Whitney Houston -I will miss her so much. I Love all of her songs, she added so much of herself into her music and all from her heart. When I hear her sign I feel every word throughout my body.
That’s my jam!!! It was my favorite for them to do live. I saw them whenever they came to Southern California starting with their first cd opening for Shirley Caesar and Andrae Crouch in Anaheim. On BeBe’s solo album, Debbie does all the background vocals and did what I experienced.
Check out the one on Youtube with them singing Hold Up the Light on the same show. It has an interview with the 3 of them at the end.
I LOVED this song when I was a teenager, and I never knew she sang background vocals. What a great find! By the way, this Arsenio Hall video is truly and blast from the past! Look how OLD it looks!
Great lesson…stay humble, loving, and truly give from yur heart. True mark of greatness
Whitney has left the earthly world into the spiritual world to fly with the eagles. God bless you Whitney.. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU
I’ve been browsing online more than 4 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours.
It is pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all site owners and bloggers made
good content as you did, the internet will be a lot more useful than ever before.
