Hey Flavie,
The comment can mean many things and the answers will vary from person to person. However, I would venture to say that many times spouses make that statement out of frustration and rejection. Unfortunately, many of us were not taught to communicate effectively while growing up. So we often misinterpret our spouses needs and desires. Husbands generally want to please their spouses. If they feel that they are not making you happy they may resort to oversimplified statements to communicate their frustrations. This is the perfect time to get counseling or take a course on good communication. You should also have a conversation with your spouse about their feelings and concerns. It is never to late to learn new skills that will improve your marriage.
