Since we all have that packing thing under control (LOL), it’s time for a weekend getaway. We have the first fabulous music festival of the year and it’s happening in one of our favorite destinations…the beautiful island of Jamaica! Great music plus a Caribbean island equals a wonderful weekend getaway.
January 24th-26th, Trelawny, Jamaica is the place to be as it is the official location and start of the ‘Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival.’ This festival is Jamaica’s largest music festival and one of the Caribbeans’ most popular festivals. Music superstars like Cee-Lo Green, Celine Dion, Gladys Knight, Eric Benet, Chaka Khan, Alicia Keys, Patti LaBelle and reggae royalty Marcia Griffiths have all rocked this festival stage. This year’s lineup also promises to be fabulous.
Performing this year are R&B angel Monica, smooth jazz artist Arturo Tappin, balladeer Michael Bolton, and the legendary Dionne Warwick. It wouldn’t be a Jamaica Jazz festival without a little reggae. Stirrin it up on opening night, Thursday January 24th is none other that the iconic reggae band Third World. Festival headliners will also take to the stage for electrifying performances. Friday the reigning Queen of Hip-Hop Mary J. Blige takes the stage performing her new hits like “Don’t Mind” and fan favorites like “Stay Down” and “Stronger.” Returning to the festival stage (his last festival performance was in 2001) on Saturday is the singer who brought us “Heaven” and “Ordinary People.” Nine time Grammy award winner John Legend wraps the festival on Saturday with a unique soul filled performance.

Hey Kirstin!
The 2013 line-up looked fantastic, I was gutted I couldn’t attend this year but hoping to in 2014 as the line-up looks equally as good with acts including Raging Fyah, Mary J. Blige, Michael Bolton & John Legend!
I’ve done a festival review for 2014 which you can find here:

I hope it provides some useful information to your visitors.
Thanks again for the post,
Paul
